"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Switching up your lifestyle can be a challenge especially when your so accustomed to the ways you've been living. For me it was very hard in the beginning - I would always start a workout plan with the best intentions. After a few weeks of extreme dieting and working out I'd always fall off track. Part of the reason for this was because it was to much of a drastic change at one time - at the time I was not strong enough to handle such a thing. After multiple failed attempts I felt defeated, embarrassed and depressed.
Finally I decided I could not live this way any more - I could not just live my life without ever truly trying. Deep down I knew I wanted to be a father someday and knew the way I had been living was no example to young a child. Enough was enough and I had to make a change. I started with one goal - I promised myself I'd stick to fitness routine for a month straight. During that time I would also meal prep and make sure I would meet my macro requirements.
After a month of solid effort hitting my workouts everyday of the week and keep my nutrition on point I was seeing the results I so desperately desired. When I started this month process I was probably 70lbs overweight. I finally got down 10lbs in that first month. This was the step to change that I needed! I created that "snowball" the important piece to the puzzle i was missing that was going to provide me with motivation to keep going.
I cannot express how important that "snowball" is when your getting started. When you get to the point where you've created it - your proud, you want to see what happens if you keep going. Now you have that motivation to keep pushing forward with your change. It's worth it now because you can see it working! I'd always recommend when getting started to take before pictures and record your weight. You may not want to take those pictures at the time but trust me..down the road you will wish you had!
